Invisalign
Do you or someone in your family need braces? Are you looking for alternatives to wire braces? University Family Dental Studio offers Invisalign to straighten teeth easier than regular braces and without the “metal mouth” most patients dread.
Invisalign is the #1 dentist-recommended clear aligner treatment available. Unlike braces, aligners are removable. Brushing, flossing, eating, drinking, and playing sports are much easier. The aligners are worn 20 to 22 hours per day and removed only when needed.
Aligners move teeth into the desired position more gently than wire braces without the need for rubber bands and dental wax for mouth irritation.
When beginning Invisalign treatment, a 3D representation of the mouth and jaw is produced. The Invisalign program maps out the moves necessary for the alignment desired, and the aligners are produced in a progressive sequence. A set is given to the patient to wear for the prescribed amount of time (typically one to two weeks), and a new set is started. Follow-ups will be done every four to six weeks to monitor progress and pick up the next batch of aligners.
The best time to straighten is during adolescence while the mouth is still malleable, but this does not mean that adults cannot use Invisalign. On the contrary, more adults choose to straighten their teeth now that Invisalign is an option.
